18-year-old Demid Volkov wins Russian combat sambo championship

Demid Volkov, an 18-year-old from Vyritsa, became the Russian combat sambo champion in the men's 88 kg division in March. He trains under Alexander Korshunov and spars with Denis Goltsov and others. Volkov recently won the junior MMA championship in the 93 kg category, defeating 17-year-old Platon Lebedev by controlling the fight with throws and ground work.
