18-year-old Demid Volkov wins Russian combat sambo championship

Demid Volkov became the Russian combat sambo champion in the men's 88 kg category in March at age 18. The St. Petersburg prospect has been training in martial arts since age seven and now trains under Alexander Korshunov, sparring with Denis Goltsov and Khadis Ibragimov. Volkov also won the junior MMA championship in the 93 kg division, defeating Platon Lebedev in the final.
