18-year-old Demid Volkov wins Russian combat sambo championship

Demid Volkov became the Russian combat sambo champion in the men's 88 kg category at 18 years old in March. The St. Petersburg native trains under Alexander Korshunov and spars with Denis Goltsov, Moknatkin, and Khadis Ibragimov. Volkov also won the junior MMA championship in the 93 kg division, defeating Platon Lebedev in the final through clinch work, throws, and ground control.
