Quick read

Fedor Emelianenko has accumulated 165 points on his smartwatch since purchasing it in March, significantly outpacing Vadim Nemkov's 72 points. The system awards only 4 points for a half-marathon. In late April, Nemkov had 60 points while Fedor had 90, showing Fedor's continued progress in running.

Fedor Emelianenko, the legendary Russian heavyweight known as The Last Emperor, is keeping himself busy in retirement by chasing personal milestones on his smartwatch — and by at least one measure, he is outpacing one of Russia's top active fighters.

Since purchasing a fitness smartwatch in March, the 49-year-old has accumulated 165 points on the device's activity tracking system as of late May. That figure puts him well ahead of light heavyweight contender Vadim Nemkov, who has logged 72 points over a comparable stretch. The gap has been widening: in late April, Fedor held 90 points to Nemkov's 60, meaning the former champion has added 75 points in roughly a month while Nemkov added just 12.

To put the numbers in context, the smartwatch awards only four points for completing a half-marathon, meaning both men have been putting in a substantial volume of runs to reach their respective totals.

Fedor, who retired with a career record of 36-5-0, trains out of FedorTeam and stands six feet tall with a 74-inch reach. He averaged 3.18 significant strikes landed per minute across his career at a 51 percent accuracy rate, along with two takedowns and 1.9 submission attempts per 15 minutes — numbers that defined a dominant era of heavyweight mixed martial arts.

Nemkov, 32, carries a professional record of 19-2-0 and shares the same six-foot height as his compatriot, though he holds a slight reach advantage at 76 inches. He competes at light heavyweight.

Why it matters

  • Fedor remains physically active and competitive at 49, even outside of professional fighting
  • The point gap between the two fighters has more than doubled in roughly one month, reflecting Fedor's accelerating running output
  • The low point value assigned to a half-marathon underscores the volume of activity both men are logging
