Fedor Emelianenko, the 49-year-old Russian heavyweight legend known as The Last Emperor, is showing no signs of slowing down off the canvas, racking up 165 points on his smartwatch since purchasing the device in March of this year.

The milestone speaks to a remarkable training pace. With only four points awarded per half marathon completed, Emelianenko has logged an extraordinary volume of long-distance running in under three months. The 183-centimeter, 36-5-0 veteran, who carries a 74-inch reach and has spent decades at the top of heavyweight combat sports, appears to be pushing his cardio work well into his late forties.

His FedorTeam training partner Vadim Nemkov is also putting in serious mileage. The 32-year-old Russian light heavyweight, who holds a 19-2-0 professional record and stands at 183 centimeters with a 76-inch reach, had accumulated 60 points by the end of April. He has since added 12 more to reach 72 points total.

Why it matters

  • Emelianenko's pace has outstripped Nemkov's considerably, accumulating 75 more points despite both training under the same team environment.
  • The gap has also widened over the most recent stretch — Fedor led 90 to 60 at the end of April and now leads 165 to 72, suggesting he has accelerated while Nemkov's pace has remained steadier.
  • For a 49-year-old fighter, sustaining this volume of half-marathon-distance running underlines a continued commitment to elite-level conditioning.
