The UFC has cut seven fighters from its roster over the past two days. Lando Vannata (4-8-2 UFC) spent 10 years with the promotion and went winless in his last three fights over four years. Jamie Mullarkey (6-7 UFC) competed for seven years but never won more than two consecutive bouts. Daniel Marcos (5-1 UFC) recently lost after a previously undefeated run. Vince Morales (3-9 UFC) lost four straight fights after returning to the promotion. Also released were heavyweight Austin Lane (1-5 UFC), welterweight Max Griffin (8-11 UFC), and flyweight Jesus Aguilar (4-3 UFC).

The UFC parted ways with seven fighters over a two-day span on May 29, 2026, among them longtime lightweight veterans Lando Vannata and Jamie Mullarkey, as the promotion continued its periodic roster trimming.

Vannata spent a full decade inside the UFC octagon, compiling a 4-8-2 record with the promotion before his release. His final stretch proved difficult, as he went winless across his last three appearances over a four-year period.

Mullarkey, 31, leaves after seven years with the organization and a 6-7 UFC record. The Australian lightweight, who stands six feet tall with a 74-inch reach, was a reliably aggressive fighter who landed 4.1 significant strikes per minute and converted takedowns at a rate of 2.46 per 15 minutes. He never managed to string together more than two consecutive victories during his tenure.

Daniel Marcos departs with a UFC record of 5-1, his lone promotional loss arriving after an otherwise unblemished run. The 33-year-old Peruvian carried an overall professional mark of 18-1 and was notably efficient on the feet, landing 4.9 significant strikes per minute at 53 percent accuracy.

Vince Morales, the 35-year-old American bantamweight nicknamed Vandetta, ends his second stint with the promotion on a four-fight losing streak. He holds a 3-9 UFC record and a 16-11 overall mark, training out of Syndicate MMA.

Why it matters

  • Vannata's decade-long run makes his release one of the more notable roster cuts of the cycle
  • Marcos had been viewed as a rising contender before his recent loss disrupted his momentum
  • The cuts reflect the UFC's continued pressure on fighters who cannot sustain winning records across extended contracts
  • Heavyweight Austin Lane, welterweight Max Griffin, and flyweight Jesus Aguilar were also among those released
