UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall has publicly disclosed that he has not received an invitation to the upcoming UFC White House event, despite the card featuring a bout for the interim heavyweight title.

Aspinall, 33, holds the undisputed UFC heavyweight championship and carries a record of 15-3-0. The Englishman, who trains out of Team Kaobon, stands six-foot-five with a 78-inch reach and has established himself as one of the most dangerous finishers in the division. He currently sits sixth in the UFC pound-for-pound rankings. His output is exceptional even by heavyweight standards, landing 7.63 significant strikes per minute at a striking accuracy of 67 percent, while also averaging 2.62 takedowns per 15 minutes.

The interim title fight will pit light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira against Ciryl Gane. Pereira, 38, is a Brazilian knockout specialist who holds a 13-4-0 record and currently reigns as the UFC light heavyweight champion. He lands 5.16 significant strikes per minute at 62 percent accuracy and is moving up to compete at heavyweight. Gane, nicknamed Bon Gamin, is a 36-year-old Frenchman out of MMA Factory with a 14-2-0 record and the second-ranked heavyweight in the division. Standing six-foot-four with an 81-inch reach, Gane lands 5.29 significant strikes per minute at 61 percent accuracy.

Why it matters

  • Aspinall retains the undisputed title but has no confirmed path or timeline back to activity
  • The interim belt will create a mandatory unification obligation, adding pressure to schedule his return
  • A potential Aspinall matchup with either Pereira or Gane would pit the division's most prolific striker against very different stylistic challenges
