Former Jackson-Wink general manager Mikhail Lyubimov described Aaron Pico as one of the most destructive sparring partners he ever witnessed, recounting incidents in which partners left with broken ribs and orbital bone fractures, with some never returning to the gym. Lyubimov said Pico knocked sparring partners unconscious on multiple occasions and that partners began avoiding him entirely, prompting Pico to travel to other gyms for work. He added that Pico's difficulty finding partners in the United States led him to conduct multiple training camps in Morocco, where he was provided high-level opponents and lavish accommodations at the invitation of the royal family, and that head coach Greg Jackson acknowledged he could not compete with that arrangement financially.
