Chimaev enters the contest as the number-one ranked middleweight and sits at number ten in the pound-for-pound rankings. The 31-year-old — fighting out of Allstars Training Center under the UAE flag — carries a 15-1 record and is one of the sport's most complete threats, averaging 5.29 takedowns per 15 minutes and landing significant strikes at a 60 percent accuracy rate. Standing six-foot-two with a 75-inch reach, "Borz" is a physical presence at 185 pounds.

Tsarukyan, the number-one ranked lightweight, brings a 23-3 record into the bout. The 29-year-old Russian trains out of American Top Team and has built his reputation on a well-rounded game that includes 3.26 takedowns per 15 minutes and a 50 percent striking accuracy. Standing five-foot-seven with a 72-inch reach, "Ahalkalakets" has positioned himself firmly at the top of a loaded division.

His opponent, Tony Ferguson, is one of the most decorated lightweights of his generation. "El Cucuy" is 42 years old and holds a 26-11 record. The American, who trains at Knuckleheadz MMA, has a 76-inch reach on a five-foot-eleven frame and remains active on the feet, averaging 4.91 significant strikes per minute, while also generating nearly one submission attempt per 15 minutes.

Why it matters

  • Chimaev's divisional rank and pound-for-pound placement mean a strong performance could push him toward a middleweight title shot
  • Tsarukyan, as the lightweight number one contender, has championship implications riding on his showing
  • Ferguson's submission threat and long reach give him tools to complicate Tsarukyan's game despite the experience gap in recent form
