UFC title fight data shows shorter fighters win more often against taller opponents

An analysis of all UFC title fights where one fighter held a height advantage of 10 or more centimeters found that shorter fighters lead the all-time count 31–29. In lighter weight classes the edge for shorter fighters grows to 20–9, and among strikers in those divisions the margin is 12–7. Ilia Topuria already holds a 2–0 record in title fights against opponents more than 10 centimeters taller, a streak that could extend to 3–0 with a win over Justin Gaethje.
