John McCarthy Defends Ciryl Gane, Cites Pereira Head Movement for Shots to Back of Head

Veteran referee John McCarthy has come to the defense of Ciryl Gane following his loss to Alex Pereira, arguing that Gane became overly aggressive in his desperation to finish the fight. McCarthy also noted that Pereira was actively turning his head to survive, which caused some of Gane's punches to land on the back of the skull.
