The UFC has introduced a new performance-based ranking system that removes human media voting in favor of an algorithm where wins and the quality of opposition determine 95% of a fighter's position. Key features include automatic placement above defeated opponents, bonus credit for finishes, an inactivity penalty kicking in at 18 months, and a gradual reduction in the value of wins over five to ten years. The organization is eliminating the pound-for-pound rankings entirely, and fighters competing across multiple weight classes will carry separate divisional rankings. Notable early changes under the new system include Pat Sabatini and Nathaniel Wood entering the featherweight top ten, Navajo Stirling landing at number 12 in light heavyweight, and Dominick de la Zerda dropping from eighth to fifteenth.
