Shara Bullet has disclosed that he contracted dengue fever during a training camp in Thailand ahead of his fight with Barrio, leaving him bedridden for nearly two weeks with a 40°C fever, skin sores, and hair loss. He traveled to Abu Dhabi in a severely weakened state but still competed and won. Immediately after the fight he underwent surgery, and for two weeks following the bout he was unable to breathe normally.
