Aspinall, 33, holds a 15-3 record and currently sits sixth in the pound-for-pound rankings. The Manchester-born fighter, who trains out of Team Kaobon, stands six-foot-five with a 78-inch reach and is one of the most efficient strikers in the heavyweight division, landing 7.63 significant strikes per minute at a remarkable 67 percent accuracy. He also averages 2.62 takedowns per 15 minutes, underlining his well-rounded threat.

Gane, nicknamed Bon Gamin, enters as the number-two ranked heavyweight in the world. The 36-year-old Frenchman carries a 14-2 record out of MMA Factory and brings elite technical striking to the equation, landing 5.29 significant strikes per minute at 61 percent accuracy across his career. At six-foot-four with an 81-inch reach — the longest in this pairing — Gane's range and movement have long made him one of the division's most difficult puzzle boxes.

Why it matters

  • A win for Aspinall would be a marquee first title defense against a former interim champion-level contender
  • Gane, ranked second at heavyweight, is the most credible available challenger and a victory would cement his status as the division's undisputed top threat
  • The stylistic contrast is compelling: Aspinall's volume and grappling versus Gane's length, footwork, and technical output
  • With heavyweight already light on top-ten depth, the outcome would significantly reshape the divisional landscape
