Shara Magomedov has revealed that he contracted dengue fever during his training camp in Thailand ahead of his fight with Marc-André Barriault last July. He spent roughly two weeks bedridden with a temperature of 40°C, developing sores and experiencing hair loss before flying to Abu Dhabi still severely weakened. Despite winning the bout, Magomedov went straight from the cage to the operating table and spent two weeks afterward unable to breathe properly.
