UFC middleweight Shara Bullet has revealed he contracted dengue fever during a training camp in Thailand ahead of his fight with Barrio, spending approximately two weeks bedridden with a 40°C fever, skin breakouts, and hair loss. He returned to training only to relapse before ultimately traveling to Abu Dhabi and competing, going on to win the fight. Bullet also disclosed that he required surgery in the days immediately following the bout and spent two sleepless nights before and after the operation.
