Magomedrasul Gasanov was removed from his scheduled bout against Abubakar Vagaev after a substance in his system was flagged by the UFC. According to his sparring partner Ikram Aliskerov, Gasanov provided documentation of everything he had taken over the prior six months and his tests came back clean, but the UFC identified a long-lasting prohibited compound and ordered him to be retested before ultimately cancelling the fight. Aliskerov compared the situation to past cases involving mildronate, suggesting the substance can remain in the body long after use without performance-enhancing intent.
