Shara Bullet has detailed a harrowing stretch surrounding his fight with Barrio, during which he contracted dengue fever in Thailand after being bitten by a mosquito during an open grappling mat session. He spent roughly two weeks bedridden with a 40-degree fever, skin pustules, and hair loss, recovering just enough to board a flight to Abu Dhabi and compete. After winning the fight, Bullet went directly into surgery and then endured two days without sleep, unable to switch off what he described as a constant state of combat readiness.
