The 42-year-old American, who trains out of The Arena, holds a 13-7-0 record and has long been recognized as one of the sport's most reliable grapplers. She averages 2.57 takedowns per 15 minutes and connects on 54 percent of her significant strikes, a testament to her controlled, efficient style.

Araujo, nicknamed "Vivi," entered the bout ranked eighth in the women's flyweight division with a 13-7-0 record of her own. The finish ends what had been a competitive rivalry between two experienced flyweights.
