PFL San Diego delivered a stacked night of finishes and decision victories on June 28, headlined by AJ McKee's unanimous decision win over Salamat Isbulayev, with all three judges scoring the bout 30-27.

Liz Carmouche turned in one of the night's most impressive performances, submitting Viviane Araujo with a guillotine choke in round two. The 42-year-old American, who trains out of The Arena, carries a 13-7 record and has long been one of the more physically complete fighters on the women's circuit. She connects on 54 percent of her significant strikes and averages 2.57 takedowns per 15 minutes, giving her the tools to control opponents wherever the fight goes.

Araujo, ranked eighth in the women's flyweight division, came in at 13-7 as well. The 39-year-old Brazilian out of Cerrado MMA is an active striker, averaging 3.84 significant strikes per minute at 47 percent accuracy, and she adds a takedown threat at 1.72 per 15 minutes. The guillotine finish ended her night before she could establish her usual rhythm.

Alexander Shabliy returned from a lengthy layoff and picked up a unanimous decision over Alfie Davis, showing no visible rust in the process.

Hassan Magomedshapiev made quick work of Joshua Weems, submitting him with an arm-triangle choke in round one. Weems, a 32-year-old out of Black Sails MMA, carries an 11-3 record and had shown elite striking output heading in, averaging 5.25 significant strikes per minute at a remarkable 64 percent accuracy along with 4.77 takedowns per 15 minutes. The submission came before any of those attributes could factor into the outcome.
