Rafael Fiziev has disclosed that a jab late in the first round left him unable to see properly out of his left eye, causing everything to appear double or triple. Unable to fight normally with the impairment, he made a split-second decision to open the second round with a spinning heel kick. Fiziev confirmed that without the eye problem he would never have thrown the technique, crediting the desperate gamble with securing the finish.
