Ian Machado Garry teased a UFC welterweight title fight against champion Islam Makhachev, posting on Instagram that he's ready while criticizing the champ for needing more time despite being the top pound-for-pound fighter. Garry, on a two-fight win streak after losses to Shavkat Rakhmonov and wins over Carlos Prates and Belal Muhammad, positions himself as the frontrunner over Michael Morales. Makhachev won the belt via decision over Jack D Maddal at UFC 322 in November 2025. This intensifies the welterweight title picture heading into 2026. Makhachev's manager responded on Twitter.
