Analyst ranks hardest hitters across multiple UFC divisions as of July 2026
Quick read

This was easily the toughest ranking I’ve made. I went back and forth on almost every division, weighing one shot power, consistency, the level of competition they’ve hurt, and how often they produce fight changing moments. There are a few that could’ve gone either way, but this is where I landed as of July 2026. Agree or disagree? Drop your top 3 for any division below #ufc #mma #iliatopuria #justingaethje #seanomalley Temirov gets the edge with arguably the most explosive one shot power in the division which he reminded everyone of this weekend, Kape remains one of the UFC’s hardest hitting flyweights having knocked out most of the top guys at 125, and Van rounds out the top three with his relentless pressure, sharp boxing, and proven ability to hurt elite opponents O’Malley gets the nod for his ability to change fights with a single perfectly timed shot. Yadong follows with some of the heaviest hands in the division, consistently hurting opponents whenever he lands clean. Jackson rounds out the top three thanks to his exceptional raw power and physicality, carrying legitimate one shot knockout threat every time he steps into the cage This was easily the toughest division to rank. I went back and forth more than any other on the list, but in the end it came down to consistency both in finishing opponents and the level of competition they’ve hurt. It was incredibly close, but I think Lopes has just a slight edge over the other two. Before you come at me with, “but Justin beat Ilia…” I don’t care. This isn’t about who wins the fight, it’s about who hits harder. Ilia has consistently shown freakish one shot power against elite opponents across two divisions, dropping and finishing guys with shots they never see coming. Gaethje is one of the hardest hitters in UFC history, but if we’re talking pure power today, I still give Ilia the edge. Dober no explanation needed guy hits like a truck. (Not an ilia fanboy btw) Not much to justify here This one is really close because I think all 3 of these guys have freakish fight ending power but I think this is fairly accurate all 3 are insanely dangerous Doesn’t need much justificatio

A combat sports analyst has released a cross-divisional power ranking of the UFC's hardest hitters as of July 2026, drawing significant attention online for its willingness to stack up strikers across weight classes and invite debate.

The ranking covers several divisions, with the analyst applying a consistent set of criteria throughout: one-shot knockout power, consistency in hurting opponents, the caliber of competition damaged, and the frequency of fight-changing moments. By the analyst's own admission, several placements were extremely close calls, and the final order reflects a narrow edge rather than a clear separation.

At flyweight, Temirov earns the top spot on the back of what the analyst calls arguably the most explosive one-shot power in the division, a case strengthened by a recent performance. Kape follows as one of the most proven finishers at 125 pounds, having knocked out a significant portion of the division's top-ranked fighters. Van rounds out the flyweight top three through relentless pressure and the demonstrated ability to hurt elite-level opponents.

At bantamweight, O'Malley leads for his capacity to change a fight with a single, perfectly timed strike. Song Yadong slots in second with consistently heavy hands, while Jackson closes the group with raw physicality and genuine one-punch threat.

The lightweight section drew the most commentary. The analyst places Topuria ahead of Gaethje on pure power grounds, a contentious call addressed directly in the post. The argument centers on Topuria's finishing of elite opponents across two weight classes versus Gaethje's long-standing reputation as one of the hardest hitters in UFC history. Dober rounds out the lightweight three.

Why it matters

  • Power rankings across divisions spark legitimate debate about how striking danger is measured beyond simple knockout percentages
  • Placing Topuria above Gaethje at lightweight directly challenges a widely held view of Gaethje as a generational power puncher
  • The analyst's framework, prioritizing competition level and consistency over raw highlight finishes, adds structure to a conversation that often relies on anecdote
