Scott Coker is set to announce the details of his new MMA promotion, with a press conference featuring Coker alongside Rich Chou and Peter Lin. The new venture is expected to launch early next year.
Scott Coker is preparing to pull back the curtain on his next major venture in combat sports, with a press conference scheduled to reveal the full details of a brand-new MMA promotion. Coker will be joined at the announcement by Rich Chou and Peter Lin, signaling that the project is a collaborative effort among experienced figures in the industry.
The promotion is expected to launch early next year, though specific details about its structure, roster, and broadcast plans are set to be disclosed at the press conference itself.
Coker is one of the most recognizable executives in MMA history, having built Strikeforce into a major organization before leading Bellator MMA for over a decade. Chou has a long background in fighter relations and talent development, while Lin brings business and organizational experience to the table.
Why it matters
- A new promotion entering the MMA landscape introduces fresh competition and could open opportunities for fighters currently outside the major organizations.
- The involvement of Coker, Chou, and Lin lends immediate credibility to the venture given their collective experience at the highest levels of the sport.
- An early next year launch window suggests the promotion is further along in development than a typical early-stage announcement.
The press conference represents the first concrete public step toward making the promotion a reality, and the industry will be watching closely to learn what form this new organization will take.
