Brandon Moreno to face Charles Johnson at UFC 335 in Las Vegas

Brandon Moreno is set to return to the Octagon at UFC 335 on December 12 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, where he will meet Charles Johnson in a flyweight bout. Multiple sources have confirmed the matchup.

Moreno, a former two-time flyweight champion, arrives on the back of a split-decision win over Joseph Morales at Noche UFC. That result snapped a two-fight losing streak. The 32-year-old Mexican, nicknamed The Assassin Baby, is 24-10-2 and ranked eighth in the flyweight division. He trains out of Fortis MMA and fights from an orthodox stance. Moreno lands 3.86 significant strikes per minute at 43 percent accuracy, and averages 1.39 takedowns per 15 minutes.

Johnson, known as InnerG, steps up in competition after a knockout win over Lone'er Kavanagh. The 35-year-old American is 20-9-0 and represents Murcielago MMA. He fights from a switch stance and carries heavier output than his opponent, landing 4.6 significant strikes per minute at 49 percent accuracy. His takedown average is lower, at 0.44 per 15 minutes, and he matches Moreno with 0.4 submission attempts per 15 minutes.

Both men stand five-foot-seven or taller and share a 70-inch (178 cm) reach, with Johnson at five-foot-nine (175 cm) and Moreno at five-foot-seven (170 cm).

Why it matters

• Moreno is looking to build momentum after ending his losing streak, and a win would keep him in the flyweight rankings conversation.
• Johnson gets a significant step up in opposition against a former champion.
• The matchup contrasts Johnson's higher striking output and accuracy with Moreno's greater takedown volume.

The bout adds a notable flyweight fight to the UFC 335 card in Las Vegas.
