Oualy Tandia took a unanimous decision over J.P. Saint Louis at PFL Chicago, winning a competitive fight on the judges' scorecards.

Two of the three judges scored the bout 29-28 for Tandia, while the third had it 30-27, giving him a clean sweep of the cards. The split between the scores suggests that Tandia controlled the fight in the eyes of every official, though two of them found Saint Louis competitive enough to take a round.

The result sends Tandia home with a win on the Chicago card, while Saint Louis leaves with a loss after going the full distance. Neither fighter finished the other, and the bout went the scheduled three rounds before the scorecards were read.

What the scorecards show

  • Judge scores of 30-27, 29-28 and 29-28 all favored Tandia
  • One judge awarded him all three rounds
  • Two judges gave Saint Louis one round each

A unanimous decision is the most decisive type of scorecard outcome short of a stoppage, since it leaves no room for a split or majority debate. For Tandia, the win adds a victory to his résumé on a PFL show, a promotion whose format rewards consistent results.

Saint Louis, meanwhile, showed enough to push for at least one round on two of the cards, but could not turn that into the win he needed.
