Michael Chandler is headed to WWE NXT. The UFC lightweight is set to appear on the November 4 episode of the show, which airs head-to-head with AEW's Blood & Guts event, Bloody Elbow reported.
According to the report, Chandler offered to help keep order in the unsanctioned match between Dion Lennox and Cruz Montana, and NXT general manager Robert Stone accepted. The appearance follows Chandler's earlier contract talks with WWE.

The 40-year-old American arrives in pro wrestling coming off a difficult stretch in the cage. Chandler, 23-11-0 and fighting out of Kill Cliff FC, has lost four straight. His most recent recorded fight was a first-round knockout loss to Mauricio Ruffy at UFC Freedom 250 on June 14, 2026. Before that came a third-round knockout defeat to Paddy Pimblett at UFC 314 in April 2025 and a unanimous decision loss to Charles Oliveira at UFC 309 in November 2024.
Despite the results, his numbers remain solid. Chandler lands 4.04 significant strikes per minute at 49 percent accuracy and averages 1.96 takedowns per 15 minutes. He stands five-foot-eight with a 71-inch reach.
Ruffy, the man who delivered Chandler's latest defeat, is a 30-year-old Brazilian lightweight ranked eighth in the division. He is 14-3-0 and trains with The Fighting Nerds. Ruffy stands five-foot-eleven with a 75-inch reach, giving him a three-inch height edge and a four-inch reach advantage over Chandler. He lands 3.93 significant strikes per minute at 56 percent accuracy. Ruffy has since lost himself, falling to Arman Tsarukyan by first-round knockout at UFC 331 on September 19, 2026, after knockout wins over Chandler and Rafael Fiziev earlier in the year.

Why it matters
- Chandler's WWE ties could point to life beyond the Octagon after four consecutive losses, though the NXT booking itself is a one-night appearance.
- The 12-year gap in how the two men's recent runs have gone is stark: Ruffy has been in a ranked, active lightweight mix, while Chandler is in a skid.
- Chandler has not announced a next UFC fight, and no such bout is part of this report.
The NXT appearance is built around Chandler acting as a peacekeeper in an unsanctioned bout, a role that leans on his name recognition rather than any in-ring competition.
