The UFC has cut fighter Gianni Vazquez just days after he made his promotional debut on extremely short notice. Vazquez stepped in on only three days' notice to face Javid Basharat at UFC Fight Night on February 7, replacing Said Nurmagomedov who withdrew during fight week. Despite losing via unanimous decision in his debut, Vazquez's quick release surprised many in the MMA community. The fighter had previously compiled an impressive five-fight win streak with three stoppage victories before answering the UFC's call to compete on such short notice.
