Dana White described the setup for the UFC's event at the White House celebrating America's 250th anniversary. The arena stage is being constructed in Europe, shipped to Philadelphia, then trucked to Washington DC to be erected on the White House South Lawn. White emphasized that UFC is funding the entire event without taxpayer money as a gift to America. Over 70,000 people have applied for tickets through UFCfreedom250.com, with free tickets available for the Ellipse park area across from the arena. The event will span two days with a fan festival including a press conference, weigh-ins, and performances by Zac Brown Band. White stressed this is about celebrating America, not politics, and expects over 100,000 fans to attend various fight week activities with fights broadcast on a large screen.
