Conor McGregor has paid compensation to Artem Lobov following Lobov's claim that he helped create the Proper Twelve whiskey brand. Lobov had filed a lawsuit demanding payment for his role in developing the product. Media reports indicate McGregor earned over $100 million from selling his shares in the whiskey brand. Both McGregor and Lobov declined to disclose the exact amount of compensation paid. Lobov had previously claimed he was the one who came up with the entire concept for the whiskey venture.

Conor McGregor has paid an undisclosed sum in compensation to fellow SBG Ireland fighter Artem Lobov, resolving a legal dispute over the origins of the Proper Twelve Irish whiskey brand.

Lobov had filed a lawsuit against McGregor, asserting that he was the originator of the concept behind Proper Twelve and that he played a meaningful role in developing the product. McGregor reportedly earned in excess of $100 million when he sold his stake in the brand, a figure that formed the backdrop to Lobov's claim. Neither fighter disclosed the precise amount paid in the settlement.

McGregor, 37, is one of combat sports' most recognizable figures. The Dublin-born southpaw holds a professional MMA record of 22 wins and 6 losses and competes out of SBG Ireland. In his prime, he ranked among the most active strikers in the UFC, averaging 5.32 significant strikes landed per minute at a 49 percent accuracy rate.

Lobov, 39, is also Irish-based and a longtime training partner of McGregor at SBG Ireland. Known as The Russian Hammer, the southpaw carries a professional record of 13-15-1 and built a reputation as a durable, high-output fighter, averaging 3.52 significant strikes per minute across his career.

Why it matters

  • The settlement closes a legal chapter that put the personal and business relationship between two longtime teammates under public scrutiny.
  • McGregor's post-fighting business empire, headlined by the Proper Twelve brand sale, has generated more financial attention than many of his recent competitive appearances.
  • Lobov's willingness to pursue litigation against a former close ally signaled the depth of his belief that his contribution to the brand went unacknowledged and uncompensated.
