A flyweight matchup between Mitch Raposo and Allan "Puro Osso" Nascimento has been rescheduled to UFC Vegas 119 on June 20, after a last-minute cancellation pulled the bout from this weekend's UFC Winnipeg card. Raposo contracted a virus that made it impossible for him to compete, forcing officials to push the fight back by several weeks.

Raposo, 27, enters the rescheduled contest with an overall record of 11-3-0 and a 1-2 mark inside the UFC. The American fighter out of Regiment Training Center stands five-foot-five with a 64-inch reach and operates out of a switch stance. He averages 1.91 significant strikes per minute and lands at a 38 percent accuracy rate, while also contributing on the mat with nearly two takedowns per 15 minutes.

Nascimento, nicknamed "Puro Osso," brings considerably more UFC experience to the matchup. The 34-year-old Brazilian carries a 22-7-0 overall record and has gone 4-1 since joining the promotion, training out of Chute Boxe Diego Lima. Standing five-foot-eight with a 69-inch reach, Nascimento is a high-volume striker who lands 3.2 significant strikes per minute at a 51 percent accuracy rate. He also threatens on the ground with 0.9 submission attempts per 15 minutes, rounding out a well-balanced offensive game.

Why it matters

  • Nascimento's 4-1 UFC record puts him in position to push toward flyweight contention with another strong performance
  • Raposo's takedown output could test Nascimento's submission defense and create an interesting stylistic clash
  • The rescheduling gives both fighters additional preparation time, which may benefit Raposo most given the health setback he suffered heading into Winnipeg
