Azamat Bostanov, now a fighter manager, shared memories from UFC 223 in Brooklyn eight years ago when Khabib Nurmagomedov won the UFC championship. Despite manager Ali Abdel-Aziz initially telling Bostanov to stay away from their team after he interviewed Artem Lobov following the famous confrontation, Khabib intervened and said Bostanov was their guy just doing his job. After defeating Al Iaquinta to become champion, an exhausted Khabib still took time to greet fans in the hotel, pose for photos with his belt, and speak with well-wishers he didn't even know. Bostanov also recalled that 20-30 Dagestanis gathered at the hotel entrance ready to protect Khabib from potential provocations from Conor McGregor's team. Years later, Khabib still remembered Bostanov and offered him a ride in Moscow, showing his continued down-to-earth nature despite his fame.
