Azamat Bostanov, now a fighter manager, shared memories from eight years ago when Khabib Nurmagomedov won the UFC lightweight championship at UFC 223 in Brooklyn. Bostanov recounted how he interviewed Artem Lobov after the infamous confrontation with Khabib's team, which led to manager Ali Abdelaziz initially telling him to stay away from their camp. However, Khabib intervened, telling Abdelaziz that Bostanov was "our guy" just doing his job. Bostanov described how 20-30 Dagestanis gathered at the hotel to protect Khabib from potential Conor McGregor provocations, and how Zabit Magomedsharipov fought with two broken fingers that night without telling the athletic commission. After the fight, despite being exhausted, Khabib took time to photograph with fans, talk to strangers via video calls, and remained gracious. Bostanov also recalled a chance encounter a year later when Khabib spotted him on the street and offered him a ride.
