Gilbert Burns and Mike Malott both weighed in successfully for the UFC Winnipeg main event. Russian fighter Mark Vologdin also made weight at 62.8 kg. However, Thiago Moises and John Castaneda were unable to make weight on their first attempt and have been given additional time to reach the required limit. The weigh-in otherwise proceeded without major issues for the rest of the card.
Friday weigh-ins for UFC Winnipeg produced a smooth main event check-in, with welterweight Gilbert Burns and Mike Malott both hitting the mark ahead of their headlining bout. Russian fighter Mark Vologdin also came in on weight at 62.8 kg. The session was not entirely clean, however, as Thiago Moises and John Castaneda each missed on their first attempt and were granted additional time to shed the remaining pounds.

Burns, nicknamed "Durinho," enters the fight at 39 years old carrying a 22-10 record and sitting ranked thirteenth in the welterweight division. The Brazilian Kill Cliff FC product stands five-foot-ten with a 71-inch reach and has built his reputation on a well-rounded game, averaging 2.12 takedowns per 15 minutes alongside 3.15 significant strikes landed per minute.

Castaneda, the 34-year-old American known as "Sexi Mexi," owns a 21-8-1 record and trains out of The Academy. He is one of the more active strikers on the card, landing 4.42 significant strikes per minute at 50 percent accuracy, and fights out of a switch stance at five-foot-six with a 71-inch reach.

Moises is a 31-year-old Brazilian lightweight from American Top Team, holding a 19-10 record. He is a submission-oriented fighter, averaging 1.1 submission attempts per 15 minutes, and stands five-foot-nine with a 70-inch reach.

Why it matters
- Burns and Malott making weight cleanly keeps the main event intact heading into fight night.
- Castaneda and Moises face potential percentage deductions from their purses if they cannot reach the limit within the allotted extra time.
- Both fighters missing weight on the same card adds pressure to an otherwise orderly weigh-in day in Winnipeg.
