Burns, nicknamed "Durinho," enters the bout ranked thirteenth in the welterweight division with a professional record of 22-10. The 39-year-old Brazilian trains out of Kill Cliff FC and has long been one of the division's most dangerous competitors, landing 3.15 significant strikes per minute at 48 percent accuracy while also threatening with 2.12 takedowns per 15 minutes. Malott, a Canadian fighter, will be competing in front of a home crowd in Winnipeg.

The co-main event is a bantamweight clash between Kyler Phillips and Charles Jourdain. Phillips, a 31-year-old American from MMA Lab known as "The Matrix," carries a 12-5 record and is one of the more active strikers on the roster, averaging 5.04 significant strikes per minute. He weighed in at 61.23 kilograms, while Jourdain came in at 61.68 kilograms. Jourdain is another Canadian fighting at home.

Jai Herbert, the 38-year-old Englishman nicknamed "Black Country Banger" who holds a 14-6-1 record, meets Mandel Nallo in a lightweight main card bout. Herbert stands six-foot-one with a 77-inch reach and lands 3.07 significant strikes per minute.
