ACA president Magomed Bibulatov provided candid insights into the promotion's drug testing challenges in an interview. He revealed that more fighters test positive for banned substances than test clean, and noted that short-notice replacement fighters tend to be the cleanest since they don't have time to use performance enhancers. Bibulatov explained that ACA initially gave fighters six months to clean their systems and allowed certain permitted recovery substances. The organization has compiled data on which fighters use more or fewer prohibited substances. However, Bibulatov expressed uncertainty about how to handle violators and noted that comprehensive testing is extremely expensive. He suggested Russian promotions should unite to share testing costs, though he doubts other organizations will participate. The president indicated that suspension periods of one year were being considered for violators.
