Mark Vologdin spoke about his emotions from his debut UFC fight, specifically addressing criticism about keeping his hands very low in the third round. When asked why he dropped his hands despite absorbing many strikes and his corner shouting warnings, Vologdin explained he was fighting on instinct. He admitted he kept thinking his opponent would not drop him even with his hands down, but acknowledged this was foolish. Vologdin stated he chose this path himself and does not care what people write about him leaving his health behind or technical criticisms. He emphasized that regardless of whether it was the right level of opponent or proper technique, he simply enjoyed the experience.
