Throughout the day, Strickland tagged his location on social media stories and hoped to encounter Chimaev's team. Strickland addressed Chimaev directly, referencing comments where Chimaev allegedly said he would try to kill Strickland on the street. Strickland stated he was only ten minutes from Chimaev's gym all day, that people training with Chimaev follow him and saw his stories, and that Chimaev should have known where he was. Strickland said he's the last guy in America Chimaev should be messing with and expressed disappointment that Chimaev didn't show up.
