Strickland posts location near Chimaev's gym, challenges him to street meeting

Sean Strickland spent an entire day in Newport Beach, California, the location where Khamzat Chimaev is currently training, and repeatedly tagged his location on social media in hopes of encountering Chimaev's team. Strickland stated he was responding to comments where Chimaev allegedly said he would try to kill Strickland on the street. The former middleweight champion emphasized he was only ten minutes from Chimaev's gym and that fighters training with Chimaev follow him and would have seen his stories. Strickland said he expected Chimaev to show up but concluded that Chimaev is the last person in America who should be making such threats toward him.
