Strickland spent day in Newport Beach near Chimaev's gym, waited for confrontation

Sean Strickland spent an entire day in Newport Beach, California, the location where Khamzat Chimaev is currently training, in an apparent attempt to provoke a confrontation. Strickland posted his location throughout the day on social media stories, expecting Chimaev's team to see it and respond. The American explained that he saw something in his feed where Chimaev allegedly said he would try to kill Strickland on the street. Strickland was approximately ten minutes from Chimaev's gym and believes fighters who train with Chimaev are following him and would have seen the posts. Despite making his whereabouts known, no encounter materialized, and Strickland expressed that he is the last person in America Chimaev should be threatening.
