Strickland spent day in Newport Beach near Chimaev's gym seeking confrontation

Sean Strickland was in Newport Beach, California, where Khamzat Chimaev is currently training, and deliberately tagged his location throughout the day on social media. Strickland explained he was responding to comments from Chimaev about trying to "kill him on the street," and was only ten minutes from Chimaev's gym. He stated that people training with Chimaev follow him and would have seen his story updates. Strickland said he expected Chimaev to show up for a confrontation but the meeting never materialized. He positioned himself as someone Chimaev should not challenge in America.
