Sean Strickland was in Newport Beach, California yesterday, the location where Khamzat Chimaev is currently training camp. Throughout the entire day, Strickland posted his location on his Instagram stories, apparently hoping to encounter Chimaev's team. Strickland addressed the situation directly, referencing something Chimaev said about trying to kill him in the street. The former middleweight champion stated he was within ten minutes of Chimaev's gym all day and tagged his locations on social media, knowing that people who train with Chimaev follow him and would see his posts. Strickland expressed that he believed Chimaev should have known where he was and expected him to show up. He concluded by saying Chimaev is the last guy in America who should be making threats toward him, expressing disappointment that no confrontation materialized.
