Sean Strickland spends day in Newport Beach near Chimaev's gym, no encounter

Sean Strickland spent an entire day in Newport Beach, California, the location where Khamzat Chimaev is currently training, deliberately tagging his location throughout the day on social media. Strickland was responding to comments where Chimaev allegedly said he would try to kill Strickland if they met on the street. Despite being only ten minutes from Chimaev's gym and making his whereabouts publicly known to fighters who train with Chimaev and follow him on social media, no meeting occurred. Strickland expressed surprise that Chimaev did not show up, stating that he expected him to come and describing himself as the last guy in America that Chimaev should try to intimidate. The incident appears to be psychological warfare and promotional buildup for their upcoming fight.
