Topuria covers chest tattoo, replaces face with Spartan warrior helmet

Ilia Topuria has made a striking change to one of his most prominent tattoos, with the UFC featherweight champion covering an existing chest piece and replacing it with the image of a warrior wearing a Corinthian helmet, widely associated with ancient Spartan imagery.

The original design had featured a face set within a tiger, though the identity of the person depicted was never publicly confirmed. Topuria has offered no explanation for the modification, which appears complete based on imagery he shared. The update represents one of the more notable personal aesthetic changes the champion has made outside of competition.

Topuria, who fights out of Spain and trains at Climent Club, holds a professional record of 17 wins and one loss and currently competes at featherweight, where he holds the title. Ranked number one in the pound-for-pound standings at just 29 years old, the Georgian-born Spaniard known as El Matador has established himself as one of the most dangerous fighters in the sport.
