Azamat Bostanov, now a fighter manager, recalled his experience covering Habib Nurmagomedov's UFC 223 championship victory eight years ago in Brooklyn. After interviewing Artem Lobov following the famous confrontation with Habib, Bostanov was told by manager Ali Abdelaziz not to approach their team. However, Nurmagomedov overruled his manager, putting his arm around Bostanov and saying "This is our guy, he's just doing his work." Despite being exhausted after winning the title, Nurmagomedov took time to greet fans, take photos, and speak with supporters via video calls from people crowding his hotel room. Bostanov also remembered seeing 20-30 Dagestanis gather at the hotel entrance when word spread that Conor McGregor's team might arrive, positioning themselves to prevent any provocations toward Habib.
