Seventeen days ago, during severe flooding in the region, Makhachev called on local leadership to address the building crisis, stating that the capital had become one massive disorganized construction site. Recently, he reposted comments from geographer Dmitry Koryukhin, a schoolteacher in Dagestan, who shared aerial photos highlighting what Koryukhin described as an urban catastrophe. The post noted that low-quality residential complexes are being built tightly together with little planning, creating infrastructure problems across the region.
