Vadim Nemkov disclosed that he suffered from kidney problems in 2022 that severely impacted his cardio during his first fight with Corey Anderson. He found himself exhausted after just one round in sparring sessions, which carried over to the actual bout where he won the first round but had no gas in the second. After extensive medical testing, doctors in Thailand identified the issue and prescribed an approved medication that resolved the problem. Nemkov also revealed he has completely eliminated all sports supplements from his diet due to the kidney strain, removing creatine, protein, and BCAAs, and now only takes vitamins including omega-3, fish oil, magnesium, and vitamin B. He stated the changes haven't negatively impacted his performance.
