Vadim Nemkov has disclosed that kidney problems severely impacted his performance in his first fight against Corey Anderson in 2022. He experienced severe fatigue after one round in sparring and felt his gas tank empty in the second round of the fight. Doctors eventually identified the kidney issue and found a legal medication that resolved the problem. Nemkov has since eliminated all sports supplements including creatine, protein, and BCAAs from his diet due to the strain they place on his kidneys. He now only takes vitamins including omega-3, fish oil, magnesium, and B vitamins. Nemkov says he does not feel worse without the supplements and emphasizes proper nutrition and sleep are most important.
