Islam Makhachev highlights construction problems plaguing Dagestan and Makhachkala

Islam Makhachev has repeatedly drawn attention to what he describes as chaotic construction issues in Dagestan, particularly in Makhachkala. The lightweight champion criticized the proliferation of low-quality residential complexes built too close together, as well as numerous unauthorized construction projects. Seventeen days ago, amid flooding in Dagestan, Makhachev called on regional leadership to address the construction problem, stating that Makhachkala has become one massive disorganized construction site. He recently reposted content from geographer Dmitry Koryukhin, a schoolteacher in Dagestan, who shared aerial photographs illustrating what he termed an urban catastrophe in the city. Makhachev continues to use his platform to spotlight this regional infrastructure crisis.
