Islam Makhachev highlights construction problems plaguing Dagestan and Makhachkala

Islam Makhachev has repeatedly called attention to what he describes as chaotic construction issues in Dagestan, particularly in Makhachkala. Seventeen days ago, during flooding in the region, Makhachev appealed to regional leadership to address the construction situation, stating that Makhachkala has turned into one chaotic construction site. Recently, he reposted content from geography teacher Dmitry Koryukhin, who teaches in Dagestan and was named Teacher of the Year in 2025. Koryukhin shared aerial photographs of Makhachkala showing what he characterized as an urban disaster, with low-quality residential complexes built closely together and numerous unauthorized constructions. The post praises Makhachev for recognizing and highlighting these infrastructure problems affecting his home region.
